Aidan Fruit, botanically known as Tetrapleura tetraptera is a species of flowering plant in the pea family, native to West Africa. The plant is called Uhio (Uhiokrihio) or (ushakirisha) in the Igbo Language of Nigeria.
The tree has many uses. Its sweet fragrance is valued, its fruit is used to spice dishes, such as Banga soup, and its bark is used for supposed medicinal purposes.
The major constituents are tannins, flavonoids and starch. It is mostly used to prepare several indigenous delicacies because of its aroma and medicinal effects.
It is one of the greatest wonder plants in the World. It is used as an exotic spice, medicine and as a dietary supplement.
AIDAN FRUIT is a highly medicinal spice widely used for ages in treating infertility, it does not only flush out the remnants of blood which might hinder conception after childbirth but cures several ailments including infections as well as enhances fertility in both men and women.
Aidan spice has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is used in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatism. Without proof and from oral traditions, Aidan fruit is believed to shrink uterine fibroids. Tetrapleura tetraptera reduces episodes of epilepsy and convulsions.
